Step 1- Read all the comments from the previous assignment.
Step 2- Choose one comment which is thoughtful.
Step 3-
First, paraphrase the comment you are responding to: For example: “Mr. Baalbaki thinks that…”
Then, write a question about the chosen comment. The question must be: clear, sincere, useful and be the sort of question which leads to more questions. The question you write must complicate the comment’s argument, make the reader of the comment you are questioning think deeper. Stir up some intellectual trouble

adam romy thinks guns were an advantage for the europeans. what happens when the gun or cartige (bullets)gets wet?
Jennifer L. stated that an advantage the Europneans had were diseases. However, I disagree. How can having diseases be an advantage? i am sure many Europeans had died when they first got the diseases as well.
Joseph Bocchino stated that one advantage the Europeans had was their immune system. How could their advantage be their immune system if everybody has one? Since everyone has an immune system, wouldn't the advantage Europeans had be their immunity?
Jennifer L. stated an advantage that Europeans had was disease. Were there any diseases that Native Americans were immuned to that the Europeans were not immuned to? If there were, what are their names and how did they affect the Europeans?
jason tsang thinks that guns and disease were an advantage. What if the Europeans had guns but the Native Americans had disease?
Vlad S. said one advantage the Europeans had over the Native Americans were guns. True they work from hundreds of feet away but any person with a knife or spear would win if they were within 10 feet of the shooter. Do you think the Europeans would loose if they were ambushed and were forced to fight hand too hand?
Jason said that an advantage that the Europeans had over the Native Americans were guns. He states that the Europeans can kill an enemy within 50 yards, but there can be times of trouble to that. What happens when they run out of bullets and they have to fight without guns. Do they have any experience in fighting with swords, knives, or arrows?
Vlad S. stated that the Europeans had better medicine and can treat many diseases. But what happens if the Native Americans had a disease that the Europeans weren’t immune to? Wouldn’t the Europeans just get sick and die, since they didn’t have a cure for it?
Adam Romy thinks that guns were an advantage over the Native Americans becuase guns shoot up to one to four feet. But, the Indians had bow and arrow which also shot about four feet and more. And archery is lighter to carry and easier to cast.
Jocelyn, you stated that Europeans had an advantage over Native Americans because the crops they grew were more nutritious and higher in protein. How do you know that the Native Americans didn't have high protein and nutritious foods? You also say Native Americans and Native Africans, which one is it?
Molica Sin stated that when the Europeans came to the New World, they brought weapons, animals, and language. What does language have to do with this? The Native Americans also had a language of their own. Did it make a difference if the Europeans had a language or not?
Tiffany gong said that the native Americans have an advantage because eventully the bullets of the Europeans would run out. First of all they can always make new ones with their technology and what happens to the native Americans if they run out of weapons? Also Europeans have more weapons than the native Americans which means that 1 bullet is stronger than a lot of arrows.
Mohamed Elsaid states that Spain conquered the Incan empire. One major reason was that the Spaniards had steel. My question for him is as follows: Why didn’t the Native American tribes unite and rebel against the Spaniards? The Native Americans probably would have conquered them. Now the Incan empire would have had a single language, more domesticated animals and plants, steel, new technology, and more people. Then, they would have had most of Europe’s factors that led to Europe’s ascendancy. Therefore, the Incan empire would have been the most superior empire in the world at that time. Don’t you agree?
Jennifer L. states that an advantage that the Europeans had over the Native Americans was that they had diseases that the Natives were not immune to. What if the Native Americans had a Disease that the Europeans were not immune to? Would that disease spread as rapidly as how the European diseases spread through the Native Americans? If so, how would the Europeans have Prevented this, would they have fled back to where they came from?
Vlad Shknevskiy states that the Europeans had better medicine and treatments and the Native Americans had none. That is why the Europeans gave the Native Americans diseases and the Native Americans got immune to them as well. How do you know if the Native Americans had no medicine? Maybe the Native Americans had treatments to diseases, but not the ones that the Europeans were immune to. Also, what do you mean when you state that “Europeans had money, and the Native Americans had another uncivilized system like rocks.” What do you mean by saying that the Native Americans had a system like rocks? Can you elaborate about that statement more?
Some people, like Vlad and Adam for example, think that an advantage that the Europeans had were guns. It is true that the gun can kill a person from long distances but what if the native Americans had stealth to quickly evade the gunshot before the Europeans noticed them or if the European had bad aim? Would the Europeans still be able to win?
According to Jocelyn Chiu Europeans domesticated many animals including the buffalo. Well, I don’t really agree. Shouldn’t it have been the Native Americans the ones domesticating it first since the buffalo was North American species? Why didn’t they do it? It seems that buffalos are unruly animals to be tamed and, apart from that, Native Americans saw little incentive in domesticating them. They saw domestication partly as a response to food shortage and the North Americans plains were abundant en buffalos (75 million). What was the point in domesticating them?
Genna said that an advantage the Europeans had was their geography. She mentioned the "Fertile Crescent"- former Mesopotamia. But I ask this question to Genna: The countries of Europe fought numerous wars with themselves, so if their advantage was geography, wouldn't all the battling destroy and damage it?
Jennifer L said that an advantage that Europeans had was disease. Were there any diseases that the Europeans were immune to that the Native Americans were not immune to? If there are or were what are they and did they affect both races in the same way?
Justin Francis says that the Natives disadvantage was that the Europeans had cows and other domesticated animals as well. What if the Natives had these domesticated animals, would you still have think that the Europeans would have won?
