As Raymond Chen wrote,” Why didn’t the Native American and Europeans share the land with each other?” That is a very tough question to answer, but I might just have the answer to the question. From resources it says that when the Europeans had came to the new world they saw these unusual people whom inference that they had no religion and no government. So why not take control? They took an advantage and took their land.
I also think the Europeans were kind of greedy and didn’t even try to settle with the Native Americans and offer them to share the land, and live together in peace.
The question here is "Why didn't the Europeans and Native Americans share the land with eachother?". This is only half true. The Eropeans who came from Europe were used to buying and selling. The Natives on the other hand belived that the land belongs to everyone. The Europeans tried to bargan with the Native Americans and the Europeans were told they can have the land because it was for everyone: to share. So the Europeans saw this free opprotunity of "sharing" and decided to take it all, or atleast take as much land as they could. Thats where the problem started.
How did the Europeans and the Native Americans collarboration turn to a conflict? Many historians try to find the answer to this question, however the answer varies. One answer that I think fits the most is that the Europeans were somewhat greedy. Since the Europeans' and the Native Americans' believes were so different, I think this might have been the reason for how the conflict started. The Native Americans believed that the land belongs to everyone around them. While the Europeans, on the other hand, believes who ever has the power to earn the land, the land is theres. "And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also." I think this proves my theory is right, the Europeans believed in whoever had the power was in charge. While the Native Americans believes in peace.
Raymond Chen asked, "Why didn't the Native American and Europeans share the land with each other?" This question is mind boggling because the answer depends on what perspective you look at. My perspective is that the Europeans were extremely greedy people. The Europeans were hungry for more power. The native Americans believed that the land belonged to everyone around it. The native Americans were all about peace and the Europeans were about power. I don't believe that the Native Americans would have mind to "share the land" but the Europeans are to greedy and desperate for power to overlook "sharing the land". Who knows, maybe if the Europeans weren't so selfish, there might have been a great new empire between the Native Americans and the Europeans.
Raymond Chen asks, "Why didn't the Native Americans and the Europeans share the land with each other?". The answer would be that the Native Americans and the Europeans couldn't share the land because their beliefs got in the way. What I am trying to say is that the Native Americans believed that "sharing is caring." They felt anyone and everyone should share the land and that was that. On the other hand, the Europeans felt the land was only for them and them only. There was no negotiating about it ; the land was for them or no land at all.
As Raymond Chen wrote,” Why didn't the Native Americans and Europeans share the land with each other?”. The reasons for that were because the Europeans had the idea of land ownership. They believed that land is supposed to be owned instead of shared. The Europeans were quite greedy. The Native Americans thought of land as a blessing from the gods and thought that it should be shared amongst all people.
How did the Europeans turn the situation where the Native Americans and the Europeans had many conflicts? Raymond Chen also asked, “Why didn’t the Native Americans and the Europeans share the land with each other?” Both of these questions have many different explanations. I hypothesize that when the Europeans came, and saw how productive the land was, and how much of the land was there, the newcomers became greedy and automatically wanted to have control over it. The Europeans only wanted to have control over the huge amount of land, when the Native Americans were believed to want to share the big settlement with everyone.
Another reason about how the Europeans caused trouble was by seeing that it would be easy to take advantage over a enormous group of peaceful people. From then on, the Europeans established a great government, with religions, and many more rules and laws.
Europeans were great sailors and their main objective when set sailing was to increase their territories.
When Christopher Columbus convinced King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain to finance his expedition across the Atlantic, he promised to bring back riches, new territory and Catholic converts.
When he landed in the New World he was surprised to find a different culture, which was much less developed than their own one in terms of technology, crops (despite their fertile land), and domestication of animals, religion, government and even culture. This fact made the Native Americans an easy target for the Europeans to take over. I guess when you are in a situation like this certain feeling of power must come to you straightaway. In my opinion Europeans never had in mind to share the land with anybody. Probably if the Native Americans had been more powerful as a nation the Europeans would have fought against them to conquer their territory. But they were not like that, they were “semi-naked people” who lived in temporary houses and moved seasonally. This made it very easy for the Europeans that could not only conquer their lands but convert them to their own religion.
On the contrary, Native Americans opened themselves to new people who brought with them a more developed and organized way of living and they accepted them without knowing the consequences.
Raymond Chen asked "why didn't they (Native Americans and Europeans) share the land with each other?". There are many answers for this question. From what i read, the answer to this question goes both ways. From the Europeans point of view they saw an unusual group of people who had no religion and no government. So they decided to take the land. The Native Americans on the other hand thought the land belonged to everyone and they told the Europeans this. The Europeans tried to take all the land and thats when i think the conflict started.
Why didn't the Natives And Europeans share the land with each other"? asked Raymond Chen. Well I might the answer to that question.
The Europeans saw that they had an advantage over the Natives. They saw that they had stronger weapons, and they saw that they were more civilized then the natives. So, why not take a chance to conquer their land? When they started conquering land, the Europeans really liked it. So ,they become greedy and kept on conquering land.
Another reason to explain Raymond Chen's question, is that they just couldn't live together. Natives lived in teepes, and Europeans lived in gigantic mansions. How where they supposed to live together that way? The Natives and Europeans had different religions. What were they supposed to do when they practiced their religion?
Raymond Chen wrote,” Why didn’t the Native American and Europeans share the land with each other?”, that is a very diverse question to answer, but I might have the answer to that question. Resources say that when the Europeans came to the new world they saw these unique and unknown people. The Europeans did what was natural; they inferred that these people had no religion and no government. So why not conquer? The Europeans saw an opportunity to take the new land land.
Well, the only reason why the Natives and the Europeans didn't live together was because the Europeans were greedy. They wanted to keep all the golds that the Natives have. They were also greedy for their land. The Europeans saw that the Natives were rich in land and that mean't more land for them. The Natives also couldn't do nothing so why not take their land? Plus, they both had different religion, technology, and houses. This makes them hard to live with each other.
From Thanksgiving in 1620 to King Philip's War in 1670, why the slip from collaboration to conflict between the Europeans and the Native Americans? There are many answers to this question. One answer could be that Native Americans had different beliefs of how Earth was created than the Europeans. The way the Native Americans thought Earth was created was by the Do-ya-da-no, the twin brothers, Spirits of Good and Evil (Hah-gweh-di-yu and Hah-gweh-da-et-gah). The way the Europeans thought Earth was created was by God. In fact in Genesis 1, God says to man "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." No such sentence exists in the Iroquois' Story of Creation, though.
Another reason why the Europeans and the Native Americans collaboration turned to a conflict could be that the Europeans were greedy and took advantage over the Native Americans, who believed that they could "share the land". The Europeans did not consider "sharing the land" as an option. Because they had different religious beliefs, the Europeans also had limited intentions of coexisting with Native Americans and adapting themselves to Native American ways because they intended to live according to their interpretations of Christian theology (study of the nature of God and religious truth). They did intend to try to convert the Native Americans to Christianity, though.
The Native Americans and the Europeans were collaborating in 1620, but what led to conflict with King Philip’s War in the 1670’s? My theories for why this happened are religion and that the Europeans claimed the Native Americans’ land. The Europeans thought that they could take as much of the Native Americans’ land as the Europeans wanted. Religion was very important to the Europeans. As the Bible states, “And God said, ‘Let us make man…have dominion over…all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” I think the Europeans thought they could take the Native Americans’ land because the Bible said that humans could have dominion over all the earth. I also think that the Europeans thought God wasn’t referring to the Native Americans because the Native Americans didn’t have a Bible.
I think that the Native Americans shared the land with the Europeans because some of the Native Americans’ story of creation told them to. For example, the Iroquois’ story of creation states that a very long time ago, their Great Ruler said, “We will make a new place where another people may grow.” This is why he created Earth. However, the Europeans didn’t want to share the land; they wanted to claim it for themselves. King Philip’s War broke out because King Philip was tired of the Europeans taking the Native Americans’ land. Our textbook states, “Metacomet, a Wampanoag leader also known as King Philip, opposed to the colonists’ efforts to take his people’s land. In 1675 these tensions finally erupted in a conflict known as King Philip’s War.” This is why the war started. The colonists the textbook refers to are the Europeans. For these reasons, there was a slip from collaboration to conflict amongst the Native Americans and Europeans.
Raymond Chen wrote “why didn’t the Europeans and the Native Americans not share lands.”The Native Americans and the Europeans did not want to share land. One reason why they don’t is because the Europeans are greedy. They always want more and more land causing conflicts and war. Also the Native Americans didn’t have any problems sharing the new world until the Europeans settled and asked for more.
This is why the Native Americans and the Europeans didn’t share land.
The question here is "Why didn't the Europeans and Native Americans share the land with each other?".this question is a little hard to answer because then you would have to think about who’s point or view your looking from. The native Americans didn’t mind sharing land but then the Europeans settled in and were wanting more. If someone came into you house and wanted to take it over, would you allow it?
Also the European were greedy which caused problems like war and violence. The Europeans only wanted to have control over the huge amount of land, when the Native Americans wanted to share the big settlement with everyone.
There are some limitations to greediness as there are to everything; but the greedy Europeans just didn't understand that. Raymond Chen asked, “Why didn’t the Native Americans and the Europeans share the land with each other?” These two questions have many different explanations. I infer that when the Europeans came to the new world, they probably saw how productive and rich the land was, and how much of this productive and rich land there was, the newcomers became greedy and automatically wanted to have control over it. The Europeans wanted to have control over the huge amount of land, when on the other hand the Native Americans were believed to want to share the big settlement with everyone.
Another reason Europeans caused trouble was by seeing that it would be easy to take advantage over a enormous group of peaceful and calm people. The Europeans formed a bias over the Native Americans. Or in other words a stereotype. A bias which later on came true. In the end the Europeans took over the Native Americans. From then on, the Europeans established a great government, with religions, and many more rules and laws.
Raymond Chen asked, "Why didn't the Native American and Europeans share the land with each other?". The answer to that question is that they didn’t want to share the land because they had different beliefs. Native Americans were peaceful people who thought they should share everything with everyone. But the Europeans had a different idea. Since they were greedy, they thought that they shouldn’t share the land, they thought that they should keep the land for themselves.
"Why didnt they (natives and europeans share the land with others" Well when they first got to the new land they saw a tribe of weird looking people and they tried to sell trade and bargain with them. The europeans tried to take their land because they were free no government or religon so they took advantage of this situation.
Reymond Chen wrote "Why didnt they [Natives and Europeans] share the land with each other? when the europeans first got to this new land, they saw these wierd looking people. since they have been trading and selling most of their lives, they decided to nagotigate. the Indians said that the land was for everyone and for everyone to share.Like Joseph said the Europeans started "sharing" more than they should have.
There are most liely many possible explanations for this question. One of them is that the Europeans wanted all of the land for themselves. They did not believe in sharing land with the Native Americans. However the Native Americans thought otherwise. They did not claim the land they lived on but simply said that the land was to be shared by all. Everyone was taking from mother nature. The Eutopeans thought that if they came and conquered the land the could call it their own. In conclusion the Europeans were the ones that did not want to share the land, not the Native Americans.
